The nomination of Indian-American advocate Vijay Shanker for Associate Judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, has been withdrawn by US President Joe Biden.
The notification for withdrawl has been sent to the Senate along with over 30 such names, mostly judicial appointments announced during the last months of the Trump administration.
Indian-American advocate Vijay Shanker was renominated for this top judiciary position by former President Donald Trump on 2 January, two months after he lost the presidential elections and just a little over a fortnight before Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States on 20 January.
