K’taka govt will 100% go ahead with Mekedatu project: Law Minister Basavaraj Bommai

After an all party meeting called by Tamilnadu CM MK Stalin for passing a unanimous resolution asking the Centre not to sanction the Mekedatu project, Karnataka Law Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that state government will be giving its 100% to go ahead with the Mekedatu project, “Karnataka is well within its rights to take this (Mekedatu project) up. Karnataka has got all the right to do the project and safeguard the interests of people because drinking water is the main component in this.”

Bommai added that “Karnataka’s detailed project report was with the Central Water Commission. The government of India has to consider Karnataka’s request as per law.”
