President Ram Nath Kovind is on a five-day visit to Tamil Nadu from August 2 to 6

President Ram Nath Kovind is on a five-day visit to Tamil Nadu from August 2 to 6.

In view of President Kovind’s visit to Tamilnadu, a five-tier security cover would be put in place, including at least 5,000 police personnel and commandos. The Assembly hall and the state secretariat, both in Fort St George, the Raj Bhavan, and the airport have been brought under the five-tier security cover.

Earlier, Chennai Police commissioner Shankar Jiwal chaired a meeting of senior police officials to review security arrangements and advised them on measures to be followed in view of President Kovind’s visit.

President Ram Nath Kovind will address the commemoration of the 100th year of the Madras Legislative Council in Chennai on Monday and unveil a portrait of former chief minister M Karunanidhi.

President Kovind will also be visiting the Defence Services Staff College at Wellington on August 4, 2021 and address the Student Officers of the 77th Staff Course, according to a statement by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
