(G.N.S) Dt. 22
New Delhi
The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is all set to break the deadlock by means of a third successive attempt for picking up a CMD for HUDCO, a post that has been lying vacant since September 2019 vice Dr M Ravikanth.
If some well-placed sources are to be believed, MoHUA, the administrative ministry of HUDCO, has started the process via Search-cum-Selection-Committee (SCSC) route and candidates would start casting their hats soon.
A section of top executives of CPSE considers the inordinately long pending vacancy of HUDCO CMD post a classic case of lethargy or the inclination to be overcautious or both which have led to a catch-22 situation.
The PESB selection meeting on 23.06.2022 didn’t find a suitable candidate for the HUDCO CMD post. The SCSC meeting on 03.06.2021 also failed to fructify the cause leaving the applicants, industry, and investors dismayed. Further, it also provoked doubts over the intent of the old bureaucratic leadership in filling up the leadership gap in HUDCO.
The new bureaucratic leadership appears to have set the ball rolling and successively succeeded in conducting the selection interviews for several key posts in a quick succession namely Director (Projects) and Director (Commercial), NBCC; MD and Director (Engineering), HSCC and now SCSC route for CMD HUDCO.
It has generated hope that the new bureaucratic echelon in the ministry is keen to fill the leadership gap which has set the ball rolling in its CPSEs.
