Two IAS officers in Kerala have been promoted to the grade of Chief Secretary while one to the Principal Secretary grade. However, they will continue to serve in the same department. Principal secretaries, K R Jyothilal (IAS: 1993: KL) and Puneet Kumar (IAS: 1993: KL), will soon take charge as additional chief secretaries. They are appointed into the grade of chief secretary. Dr B Ashok (IAS: 1998: KL) received promotion as principal secretary.
They will remain in the same department. Jyothilal has been given charge of public administration and power sector while Puneet Kumar will head the Planning and Economic Affairs department and Information and Public Relations. B Ashok will continue as the head of Agriculture department. He will also serve as KTDFC chairman.
