Chandigarh Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit advised Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann a fact-check and timely communication with his own Chief Secretary VK Janjua before writing anything to anyone.
Responding to Mann’s letter objecting to the ‘so-called’ sudden premature repatriation of Punjab Cadre IPS Officer KS Chahal and handing over his charge to Haryana Cadre IPS Officer Manisha Chaudhary, the Administrator underlined that Chahal was repatriated on the basis of his misconduct and the same was discussed with Punjab Chief Secretary VK Janjua well before and Chahal too was informed about the same.
The Administrator added that had Punjab CM had a fact check of the development, he would not have been required to send a missive to me objecting to what had happened. The Administrator further underlined that the mere handing over of the charge of SSP Chandigarh to a Haryana Cadre IPS Officer was being deliberately made a matter of “Punjab Vs Haryana”.
