The first member of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) from J&K, who began his term on December 13, 2018, is all set to hang his boots today on the completion of 65 years of age. It may be underlined that prior to becoming UPSC Member, Bharat Bhushan Vyas (Retd IAS: 1986: JK) was one of the four advisers to former Governor of J&K Satya Pal Malik.
Vyas, who also served as 30th Chief Secretary of J&K, holds the distinction of having served as Principal Secretary to three former Chief Ministers of the state — Omar Abdullah, late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti.
Besides Dr Manoj Soni as UPSC Chairman, the Commission comprises six more members of which Vyas is completing his term today. Now, the Centre has one more position to offer to bureaucrats who retired recently.
